Jérôme MESNAGER

Jérôme Mesnager, born in Colmar in 1961, is one of the first Parisian street painters.
In 1974, he entered the Ecole Boulle where he followed a training cabinetmaker, and where he will teach thereafter.
In 1979, he joined the comic strip classes of the School of Applied Arts and co-founded in 1982 a group of young artists: « Zig-zag », who decided to occupy the street and abandoned factories by drawing graffiti. He thus accompanies the nascent movement of Parisian urban art and the free figuration of the 80s.
In 1983, he invented the man in white, « a symbol of light, strength and peace ». This white silhouette, he reproduced throughout the world, from the walls of Paris to the Chinese wall, totaling to date more than 6,000 walls.
